The best movies to catch on OSN this April

Dubai, UAE – 26th March 2020: This April, OSN the region’s leading entertainment network is bringing a host of blockbuster films to OSN Movies First. From thrillers and horrors leaving viewers on the edge of their seat, to cutting edge dramas and must-watch comedies – anyone will be spoilt for choice. And that’s not all, OSN will also be offering back to back movies for the whole family to enjoy with the launch of its Family Fun pop-up channel during Ramadan.
First up on OSN’s movie line up is Booksmart – described by film critics as one of the funniest comedies released in years. Available to watch on Thursday 2nd April, the film stars Jessica Williams and Golden Globe Award nominees, Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein. On the eve of their high school graduation, two academic superstars and best friends realise they should have worked less and played more. Determined not to fall short of their peers, the girls try to cram four years of fun into one night.
April also sees OSN bring the must-watch thriller Haunt to the network as part of its new and exclusive content. The film focuses on a group of friends who encounter an “extreme” haunted house on the eve of Halloween that promises to feed on their darkest fears. The night turns deadly as they come to the horrifying realisation that some nightmares are real. The movie will premier on Thursday 9th April, starring Katie Stevens, Will Brittain and Lauryn Alisa McClain.
And for those who love horror films, be sure to catch Child’s Play on Thursday 16th April. A remake of the 1988 film and reboot of the Child’s Play franchise, it sees a mother give her 13-year-old son a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature. Whilst Crawl which will premier on Thursday 23rd April follows a young woman attempting to save her father during a category 5 hurricane, before finding herself trapped in a flooding house and must fight for her life against alligators. Having generated more that $91 million at box offices worldwide, this film will leave anyone glued to the screen.
Also, in April, OSN will introduce Teen Spirit, which will air on Friday 17th April, starring Elle Fanning, Agnieszka Grochowska and Archie Madekwe. From the Producer of the critically acclaimed LA LA Land, Violet is a shy teenager who dreams of escaping her small town and pursuing her passion to sing. With the help of an unlikely mentor, she enters a local singing competition that will test her integrity, talent and ambition.
And for Disney fans, OSN is excited to present The Chaperone on Friday 24th April exclusively on its platform. Starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner, Elizabeth McGovern, Haley Lu Richardson and Géza Röhrig, the drama sees a Kansas woman in the early 1920s find her life forever changed when she accompanies a young dancer on her fame-seeking journey to New York City.
Next up is Bad Education, starring Hugh Jackman and Geraldine Viswanathan. Hitting TV screens on Thursday 30th April, the movie sees the unfolding of the single largest public school embezzlement scandal in history.
In addition, OSN will be launching its Family Fun pop-up channel from April 24th until 16th May to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. Featuring family favourites from Alice in Wonderland and Marry Poppins Returns to Dumbo and Moana – families can enjoy endless amounts of entertainment.
