I have long travelled in the deserts of Egypt and marvelled at its wonders. Some might perceive the desert as a devoid land of seclusion and quietude, but I have known it as rich in knowledge and art.
Yet, I have pondered into often overlooked details, inspecting rock art left by the Neolithic man, who had recorded his existence in human history, leaving behind records of his daily life in parts of Egypt, long before Mena, the first Pharaoh, ascended his throne. And so, I concluded that these were legacies worthy of documentation and acknowledgement.
As I looked at the earth under my feet, I found the records of time. Yes, these photographs are exhibited here to tell a history of nature and show the lifecycle of a remote land in hard to reach territories.
It is a silent world, where only wind lives and only sand moves. And what is wind if not the artist you will never see, and what is sand if not the tools that depict the painting of the desert.
A painting of nature that will only be completed by the end of time. It is where I have learnt to always look beyond the horizon and, with it, I invite you to look beyond the photographs.
This photography exhibition is merely a guide for each one of us to follow into one’s world.
