April 07, 2022, Dubai – The Board of Trustees of the Osha Bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi Award decided to extend the deadline for applications submission till the end of June 2022, to give ample time to the largest possible number of candidates to apply for the second edition of the Award.
The Board of Trustees will continue to receive applications from creative people, poets, and students from all over the Arab world, via e-mail to email@example.com. Potential candidates can apply to just one category of the competition.
Dr Rafia Ghubash, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, confirmed that the Board of Trustees has approved the extension of the deadline till the end of June 2022 to give ample time to the largest possible number of candidates to apply for the second edition of the Award held under the slogan ‘Dar Al Wasl’.”
“The award is not like other poetry awards. It is a project to promote the poetry of the Girl of Arabs among generations. That’s why a new category was launched to recognize the best young talent in Nabati poetry. The winner will be selected according to criteria agreed upon by the Board of Trustees,” Dr Ghubash added.
The winners will be announced after a thorough assessment of the entries by the jury committees according to the competition’s criteria. Financial prizes will be awarded to winners in the three categories, and a public figure will be honored for his/her literary contributions.
Categories and Conditions:
- “The best Nabati poem award”: the participating poems should have a deep content inspired by the competition’s slogan “Dar Al Wasl”. Entries should be between 10 and 20 verses.
- “The best literary study of Osha poetry award”: The study should follow a renewed approach while abiding by the scientific method. It should be between 5000 and 6000 words with references and annexes. Each applicant must submit one study only, in Arabic language, in the form of a paper book, and should follow the APA method in scientific documentation.
- “The school students’ award”: Entries should be sent in audiovisual format (video) with high quality to select the best reciter of Osha poetry. Poems should be recited by heart and recorded on video.
